Vremya is an application that sets your Macintosh clock using version 1 of the Network Time Protocol as described in RFC 1059 by D. Mills. This is a simple implementation of NTP, but the accuracy is sufficient for the Macintosh clock.
Why Vremya?
If you just want to set your Macintosh clock occasionally and quickly, and you don’t want Control pannel and Extensions, Vremya is the solution for you.
Requirements
Vremya requires MacTCP. You should also have your geographical location set using the Map control panel.
Quick Start
Open the Vremya application. If this is your first time, you will be asked to enter the address of the NTP server you wish to use. You should try to use a server closest to you. After dismissing the Settings dialog box, chose "Set System Clock" from the File menu. Vremya will set the system clock to the correct time.

NTP Server Enter the address of the NTP server you wish to use. Try to use a server near you, preferably on your own network.
On launch These options allow you to automate Vremya.
Do nothing Vremya will do nothing when it’s launched.
Set Time Vremya will attempt to set the time when it’s launched.
…if MacTCP already open will set the time only if MacTCP is already open. If you owuld like Vremya to open MacTCP when it tries to set the time, uncheck this box.
…wait for MacTCP If this checkbox is checked, Vremya will go into the background and wait until MacTCP is opened either by you or by another application and then set the time.
…Quit when done When Vremya is done with the above, it will quit if this checkbox is checked.
Note: If you have set Vremya to quit when done, you can override this action by holding down any key (this is so you can chnage the settings later without having Vremya quit on you every time).
